What is a distance learning course?

Two broad categories of courses are listed on the DistanceLearning.Wisconsin web site.

100% distance learning: 

No campus visit is required at any time.  The student does not need to be present on campus. Courses offered fully by distance learning are indicated in the course description and are illustrated with this symbol:

Partial distance learning:

Limited campus visits are required. The course is primarily delivered via distance learning technologies, but the student should expect to attend at least one class session on campus. The campus visit requirement is indicated in the course description and illustrated with this symbol: .

UW Transfer Information:
